Status: Access:

Summary: The Basildon Golf Course opened in 1967 and is described by the Basildon Council website as a mature 18 hole par 71 course covering 164 acres of attractive undulating countryside in the centre of Basildon. The golf course contains the site of a former moated farmhouse called Vange Hall, and at the steepest point, a World War II and Cold War vintage early warning bunker for the Monitoring Corps. Former brickearth workings are still visible on the southeastern side of the site.

Description: Although the fairways of the golf course are largely close mown, areas of rough, scrub and woodland provide valuable wildlife habitats.
